Two years after college graduation, Pat launched a Beer Pong Tournament business which proved to be an expensive lesson on how not to run a business. From those mistakes, Pat began to learn as much as he could about business, finance, and tax to avoid repeating those mistakes. This sparked his passion for the financial side of the business.

In 2010, Pat entered Financial Services full-time and launched Darby Business Advisors in 2019.

Pat's financial and tax credentials include Certified Financial Planner™️ (CFP®️), Enrolled Agent (EA) the highest credential awarded by the IRS, as well as a Licensed Insurance professional.

At the time of Pat's Beer Pong business struggles, Pat had a Financial Advisor and a CPA doing his taxes. However, neither of them specialized in working with small business owners. Pat did not know how to incorporate his business financial challenges/opportunities with his personal financial challenges/opportunities.

It felt confusing and overwhelming not knowing if the challenge could be resolved by a Financial Advisor, Accountant, Tax Advisor (yes, later learned this is often NOT the Accountant), Lawyer, Banker, or someone else.

Now Pat's firm aim to solve this frustrating problem most business owners face.
